Hair Care Essentials: Moroccan Oil Treatment

I first used the Moroccan Oil Treatment just over 2 years ago, having read numerous glowing reviews in magazines and being told by all and sundry that it was the latest celebrity beauty secret. The salon I managed at the time was a little slow on the uptake (I wasn’t the buyer!) and it was only after many requests from clients that we finally got it in.

Well, I’m glad we did because I’ve been using it ever since!

What Is Moroccan Oil?

Just in case you haven’t heard of it, Moroccan Oil is a lightweight conditioning, styling and finishing oil which nourishes and strengthens hair, speeds up drying time and boosts shine. It’s particularly good at controlling frizz and fly away hair.

The signature ingredient of the product is Argan oil, which is produced from the kernels of the Argan tree, native to Morocco. Argan oil is a fantastic natural antioxidant and also has UV protection properties, so is great for protecting your hair from the sun.

The brilliant thing about the product is that the lightweight formula is easily absorbed and doesn’t leave any residue; leaving your hair nourished, shiny and protected, with no oiliness.

Who Is It For?

As you can probably tell already Moroccan Oil really is an amazing all round product and one that I would recommend to everyone, but just to confirm, the product is ideal for: –

  • Strengthening Damaged Hair
  • Controlling Frizz
  • Speeding Up Blow Drying
  • Adding shine to hair when used as a finishing serum
It also works well as a detangler for clip in hair extensions.

How To Use

For nourishing hair, controlling frizz and protecting from the environment apply a small amount to your hair when dry.

To use the oil as a styling and finishing product, apply a small amount to damp hair after shampooing and conditioning. Use the palm of your hand to work the product through your hair and then style as normal.

Why I Love It

It really does do what it claims and leaves my hair shiny, smooth and frizz free. With the amount of colour I get on my hair (I recently went red after being blonde for a year and I’m a natural brunette!) it’s an essential part of my beauty regime.

It’s so multi-purpose that it’s got something for everyone and comfortably makes it into my top 5 must have beauty products!

RRP on Moroccan Oil is £30.45 for 100ml, which sounds steep, but you only need to use a very small amount of the produt at a time, so I normally get around 6 months out of a bottle.

You can buy Moroccan Oil online at Amazon, or from your local salon. If they don’t have it, tell them they need to get it in!
