New York Fashion Week: Everything is black and white

Offering stark contrast to the bold colours and patterns on display at Thursday’s African Icons show, last night’s Spring 2013 collection by Norisol Ferrari was all about black and white.

Norisol Ferrari is a New Yorker of Venezuelan descent and draws her inspiration from the vibrant music and nightlife scene of lower Manhattan.

Black and white is expected to be a hot trend in fashion over the coming months and Ferrari’s excquisite dresses and tailored suits give us a taste of what we can expect on the high street. This collection is inspired by Hollywood glamour and channeled icons such as Marilyn Munroe and Rita Hayworth.

Ferrari said she wanted to create a range which represented ‘a woman that is strong, confident and commands attention, desire and respect’ and I certainly think she has achieved that.

It was also great to see some verteran models grace the runway, including  New Yorker Carmen Dell’Orefice, still going strong at the ripe old age of 81!

More amazing looks from New York Fashion Week 2012 soon. What do you think of this collection?
