With the launch of their Autumn/Winter 2012 collection, Reiss imagine a journey through the weekend, from a wander in the park on a Saturday afternoon, wine and cocktails while the sun sets on Saturday evening to dressing up for a late breakfast on the Sunday.
Inspiration wise, Reiss have gone retro, with homages to the 40s in cinched waistlines and waspish silhouettes and 90s influenced clean lines and sports aesthetics.
The key trends from the Reiss Autumn/Winter 2012 collection are as follows.
Arthouse – picture yourself strolling through a chic gallery on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Arthouse is all about artisan prints and abstract expressionism.
Woodland – layered textures and outerwear in luxe fabrication with colour influenced by the woodlands – think green hues and lilac willows, perfect for a woodland stroll on a Saturday afternoon.
Underworld – as Saturday night arrives, it’s time to step things up a gear as light reflective surfaces clash with a 90s glamour sensibility. Party like it’s 1999!
Heritage – there’s nothing better than a lazy Sunday morning after a wild Saturday night and Heritage is all about ‘comfy’ sweaters and Sunday best tweeds. Traditional patterns and neutral tones.
Downtown – and what better way to spend your Sunday afternoon than a visit to the highstreet? Downtown again takes us back to the 90s, using volume in sports chic outerwear. Clean sharp lines are warmed with tones of aubergine and paprika.
Lounge – suitably recovered from the Saturday night, it’s time to get your glad rags on again for Sunday night cocktails. Laid back evening glamour for the perfect end to a weekend.
